Peer Review Process

The editorial team of Mediatika journal will carry out a preliminary review of the originals received within a maximum period of one month from their reception, which may be rejected because they do not conform to the magazine's requirements due to content or presentation.

The evaluation system is based on anonymous external evaluators, using a double-blind system (anonymous for both the evaluator and the author). Once the text has been provisionally accepted, it will be sent to at least two evaluators, who must report on it, using the form that the journal will send them along with the text. The evaluators may in no case be members of the Editorial Board of the journal.

In view of the evaluators' reports, the Editorial Board will decide, within a maximum period of six months from receipt, on the publication of the article received. The author will receive a report stating the reasons for the acceptance, the modifications that would have to be made before their possible publication or rejection. In all cases, the evaluators' reports will always be attached.

For those articles that require modifications, publication will always be subject to the fact that those changes have been incorporated into the new version of the same. The final publication decision corresponds, in any case, to the Editorial Board.

Journal History

The Section Journals of Eusko Ikaskuntza-Sociedad de Estudios Vascos were created in 1982, as a serial publication to publicize the investigations and field work carried out by researchers from the different Scientific Sections. They also include monographic numbers that collect papers from conferences, research scholarships and tributes. Section Journals are aimed at researchers, university students and interested people in the corresponding subject. Each Journal is managed by its own Editorial Council.

The first Cuadernos de Sección. Medios de Comunicación was published in 1984. With this denomination the first five numbers appeared (1984-1995). After number six (1997) the journal changed the title for Mediatika. Cuadernos de medios de comunicación.

From 2005, Mediatika. Cuadernos de medios de comunicación journal is published in digital format and the articles can be read and downloaded free of charge.
